24 Extremely Simple Concepts That Will Profoundly Impact Your Life

My mind exploded. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. It was so simple, yet so profound. I had heard it before, but for some reason it hadn’t quite registered.

I pressed rewind, then play.

“No Decision, is a decision. It’s a decision to do nothing.”

And with that realization I decided to move forward with my dream…

We’re Missing The Obvious

Here’s the problem that we all run into. The most beautiful life changing concepts are also the simplest.

Go outside tilt your head up 5 inches and just stare at the sky for 3 minutes. IT’S FREAKING HUGE, MASSIVE, AND AMAZING!

And to to top it off, it’s literally surrounding us at all times of the day. Yet, we all miss it’s incredible awesomeness 99% of the time.

Simplicity is beautiful.

Confusing is taking 1,000 words to say what only needs 100 words. Simple is taking 100 words and turning it into 10 words.

That wasn’t a very simple sentence was it… I already quit my day job, so I guess there’s no turning back.

I like these. I’m always looking for things I can use on my blog, Friendship Society. You have a couple good ones here that I’m going to jot down for later.

You must love yourself before you can love others. This is a core principle of friendship. You can’t have loving friends unless you love yourself.

Don’t hang out with people that suck. This one is awesome and pretty much speaks for itself.

    • http://www.30yearoldninja.com/ Izmael Arkin

Haha! Yeah, one of my favorites is “Don’t hang out with people that suck”. It’s so simple, yet so true.

Please feel free to share any of these on your blog.

Loved the 24 concepts that are actually 25 :-)
I will put quote 5 up my wall to remind me to stay on track! :)

    • http://www.30yearoldninja.com/ Izmael Arkin

      What’s up Marcelo.

Haha! Did you get the pun? Number 25 says “Always do more than you say you are going to do.” So that is what I did :) .

I love number 5 – I read a book called “The Millionaire Fastlane” a while ago. Don’t be turned off by the title, it’s a really good book (though very blunt). He drilled this concept home!

      • http://www.facebook.com/marcelo.chinellato Marcelo Chinellato

Yeah I got the pun!! It gave a chuckle! :)

Good I will look up that book! I will also send you an e-mail later today a big update to come;)

        • http://www.30yearoldninja.com/ Izmael Arkin

Double awesome! I read your email. Super inspiring man. Keep it on comin’ brother :) .

  • Sherri

I don’t agree with number 5: 2 days of freedom over 5 days of things you hate seems like a steal! I’d take that anytime.
Here’s mine: “say what you mean without being mean”, I like it coz I like niceness. It goes a long way.

    • http://www.30yearoldninja.com/ Izmael Arkin

Sherri, bartering might be your best skill :) .

I like that quote – though I must say, sometimes being mean in the short term is showing love in the long term. Just a thought :) .

  • http://twitter.com/downfromtheledg downfromtheledge

#16 is pretty cool. As someone who seems to always do things the hard way, I see myself in that quote! I would probably spend the month researching the best thing to use instead of a hammer and never get around to knocking the tree down at all.

    • http://www.30yearoldninja.com/ Izmael Arkin

Haha! What’s up Down :) . I heard that quote the other day and loved it!

It had me laughing pretty hard. I kept on thinking of all the times I used a hammer when I didn’t need to.

  • Fabio

    I liked the number 14

“A person who refuses to stop no matter what is by definition unstoppable”

I put it into my week’s schedule. Unstoppable to be what I want and get the Life I want.

The phrase that inspired me a lot during theses last years (specially for “University entrance exam”) was:

“Making no mistakes is what establishes the certainty of victory, for it means conquering an enemy that is already defeated. – Sun Tzu”.

Trying to make no mistakes, I succeeded…

    • http://www.30yearoldninja.com/ Izmael Arkin

Wow Fabio that is quite an intense quote you got going on there. I have to throw out this question – Can failure or mistakes be a good thing? Is there a danger of trying to do everything without mistakes?

      Be interested in your thoughts.

      • Fabio

I think the idea behind this quote is trying to avoid a many mistakes as possible. I like this phrase because, I don’t know why, but it wakes into myself a warrior spirit, It makes me want to unsheathe the “Katana” and fight till the end… got it??

Surely that mistakes and failures can teach us a lot. We just have to face these failures as a great moment to grow and become stronger…

        Bye

    24. A mediocre idea with execution kick the bejesus out of an amazing idea never acted upon.

this is my favorite point sometimes i get so caught up in perfection that i end up doing nothing at all which is plain stupid lol…

    • http://www.30yearoldninja.com/ Izmael Arkin

Haha :) – Well put Karen. I think we all can fall into the danger of waiting on the sidelines trying to perfect our game plan. Lately I have implemented a policy in my life that says “If it scares me than I gotta do it! The reason for this is is because the fear is an indicator that it’s possible. If it were absurd my unconscious would get this and have no fear because it’s not possible”. Fear is a wonderful things when used intelligently :) .

Thanks for taking the time to comment and add another dimension to the conversation.

Great bits of wisdom. Essentially, the only one who can stop you is the one staring back in the mirror. I guess I can add another one: “The only disability in life is a bad attitude.”

I’m not a sports fan, but I stumbled upon that quote on FB from a video titled “Letter to Baltimore Ravens.” That one clicked really well.

    • http://www.30yearoldninja.com/ Izmael Arkin

Heck yeah Bryann! A bad attitude is a straight up destroyer of all possibility. The worst thing about a bad attitude is it can take something that is wonderful and make it suck balls!

  • draken

Either do something about it, or accept it.

That is about as awesome a quote as I have ever heard. So few words – so much insight! Nice!
